Terms of service
Version 2026-09-12 · last updated 12 September 2026
Voyu is a shared workspace for planning a trip with a group. These terms are the agreement between you and [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], [POSTCODE CITY], Switzerland (see the imprint), from the moment you create an account. How we handle personal data is set out separately in the privacy policy.
1. The service
Voyu lets a group keep a trip in one place: its itinerary, places, expenses and who owes whom, tasks, packing and shopping lists, photos and documents, and a history of changes. It does not book anything, move money or process payments; expenses are records you keep, and settling them happens between you outside Voyu. We may add, change or retire features as the product develops, and will announce material changes in the app.
Each trip has a limited amount of storage for photos, videos and documents, shared by its members. How much it has and how much is used is shown in the trip’s settings. Once it is full, new uploads are refused until something is deleted; nothing is removed automatically.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details to yourself and for everything done through your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access.
- One account per person, with accurate details. You can change your name and e-mail address in the app, and you can delete the account yourself at any time (see section 8).
3. Trips and the people in them
A trip is shared with everyone the owner invites. Anyone in a trip can see everything in it and can add and change most of its content; the owner can remove members, turn the invite link on and off, reset it, and delete the trip. When you join a trip you accept that its members see what you add, including your name and profile picture. When you leave, what you added stays with the trip unless you removed it first, except your uploaded files, which you can delete at any time.
Because settling up and coordinating happen between members outside Voyu, members of a trip also see your e-mail address, and photos you add show the town they were taken in. Both are on by default and both can be switched off in your settings at any time; the privacy policy explains each. The trip owner always sees the e-mail addresses of the members.
Invite links grant access to anyone who holds them. Share them only with the people you mean to invite; the owner can reset a link that reached the wrong chat.
4. Your content
You keep every right in what you upload or write. So that Voyu can work, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize, transmit and display that content to you and to the other members of the trip it belongs to, for as long as it stays in Voyu. The licence ends when you or the trip owner delete the content, subject to the short retention periods described in the privacy policy.
You confirm that you have the right to share what you upload: that a photograph of other people may be shown to the group, that a document is yours to share, and that nothing you add infringes someone else’s rights or the law.
5. What is not allowed
- Uploading content that is unlawful, infringes rights, or exposes other people’s private data without their consent.
- Harassing, threatening or deceiving other members.
- Trying to break into other trips, accounts or the service, scraping it, or overloading it.
- Using Voyu to run a commercial service for third parties without our written agreement.
If you believe content in a trip breaks these rules or the law, use Report on the photo, document or itinerary item in the app (in the mobile app also on an expense), or write to info@voyu.app with the trip name and a description. Reports are seen only by us, never by the other members. We look at every report, may remove content or suspend accounts, and will tell the person concerned why unless the law prevents it.
6. Third-party content and services
Cover photographs come from Unsplash under its licence and credit the photographer. Place data and maps come from Google, weather from Open-Meteo, flight and airline data from their providers; each is subject to that provider’s terms, and we do not guarantee their accuracy. Links to airlines, booking sites and maps lead to services we do not run.
7. Availability and liability
Voyu is provided as it is, free of charge during early access, and we work to keep it available and your data intact, but we cannot promise uninterrupted service. To the extent Swiss law allows, we are liable only for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and not for indirect losses, lost data you could have exported, or for decisions you take on the basis of content in a trip (a flight time, a balance, a weather forecast). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law or affects mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
8. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time from your profile in the web app or the Account screen in the mobile app; what that removes and what stays with your trips is explained at voyu.app/legal/delete-account. Before you do, you can download a copy of your data from the same place. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, and may retire the service with at least 30 days’ notice, during which you can export your data.
9. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms or the privacy policy in a way that matters, we show you a summary of the change in the app the next time you sign in and ask you to accept the new version before you continue. Until you do, the version you last accepted applies to you, and any new default the change introduces does not. If you do not want to accept the new version, you can sign out, and write to info@voyu.app to receive a copy of your data or have your account deleted. Each version carries the date it took effect; this is version 2026-09-12.
10. Governing law
Swiss law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of the country you live in remain unaffected, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country. Otherwise the courts of [SEAT OF THE COMPANY], Switzerland, have jurisdiction.
